Despite today's external distractions and the busyness of life, the fundamental desire to connect to others remains a powerful and universal need. Photographs of my siblings aim to inspire one to reflect on the relationships and significance of fostering meaningful connections with others in an increasingly disconnected world.
While the project emphasises the desire for connection, it also subtly acknowledges the importance of individuality. The act of wrapping and unwrapping the scarves can be seen as a metaphor for shedding old layers and embracing new beginnings, illustrating a journey towards self-discovery, empowerment, and renewed vitality.
The scarves and large fabric cloths are a central element to symbolise the bond, protection and warmth that ties the family together. It also represents an item that resonates with women and people worldwide, weaving an intricate tapestry of shared experiences.
